Penlu
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms are here so both of us know where we stand while you use Penlu. By writing or sending a letter on Penlu, you're agreeing to them.
You can write and send your first letter as a guest. After that, signing in with Google lets you keep writing, with a daily sending limit to keep things fair for everyone. You agree to use Penlu only for its intended purpose — writing and sending genuine letters — and not to abuse, spam, or overload the service.
Whatever you write, draw, or upload into a letter is yours. By using Penlu, you're simply giving us permission to store and display that content back to you and to whoever you choose to send it to — we don't claim ownership over it, and we don't use it for anything beyond running the service.
Penlu is built for personal, heartfelt letters. You agree not to use it to send anything illegal, threatening, harassing, or intended to deceive or harm someone. We reserve the right to remove content or restrict access for accounts that violate this.
Once a letter is sent, the link reflects that version permanently — it can't be edited afterward. You're responsible for making sure a letter is ready before you send it, and for who you choose to share the link with. Letters set to self-destruct or expire are deleted permanently once that condition is met, with no way to recover them.
If you sign in, you're responsible for keeping your Google account secure, since that's what protects access to your letters. We may suspend or remove access for accounts that violate these terms or misuse the service.
Penlu is provided as-is. We work to keep it reliable and your letters safe, but we can't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we're not liable for content lost due to circumstances outside our control.
As Penlu grows, these terms may be updated. Continuing to use Penlu after a change means you accept the updated terms. Meaningful changes will be reflected with a new "last updated" date at the top of this page.
Reach out via the contact page if anything here needs clearing up.
